1. Keep your jewellery from coming into contact with oils, cleaning detergents or the direct spray from your perfume. This can cause the jewellery to discolor prematurely.
2. To prevent against oxidation, tarnish, scratches and faded stones, keep your costume jewellery individually wrapped in cotton or tissue paper, then store in a box or pouch.
3. Use a soft cloth to polish your jewellery after each use and before storing.
4. Avoid contact with water by removing costume jewellery before showering, swimming, washing hands or doing the dishes.
5. And if you do ever have to retire a jewellery piece due to wear and tear, recycle the beads, stones or other useful elements and fashion them into a whole new piece such as a bracelet, brooch, necklace pendant or appliqué.
